If you are concerned about your body and its health in general, you are probably have a good workout plan in place and like to take care of your body before and after a good workout. To build up endurance and muscle strength you might have been looking supplements, certain foods, as well as maybe something called Whey Protein. As you are interested in better health and improved physical fitness you have probably heard that whey protein is a more natural way of increasing muscle mass and to build up strength. Why is Whey Protein not your ordinary supplement like many others and why should you consider it better than certain diet or fitness pills?
I can tell you one thing, after not living extremely healthy for the longest time, I am now very cautious with what I eat and what kind of supplements I take. I am probably lucky that I made it ‘til here without being overweight and the high Cholesterol levels are under control, too. But when I started running on a daily basis and to exercise I have also looked ways to improve my training and my physical strength. Once you get past the point of working out occasionally it is amazing what your body can accomplish, but to bring it to the next level you really need a detailed workout plan and the correct diet. Working in an office is not a good environment for always eating healthy or to be able to fix healthy and nutritious meals.
As my desire to run longer and faster grew I started looking around for ways to improve my muscle mass and then discovered Whey Protein. Your body’s protein levels are depleted through exercise. Your muscles require amino acids to prevent deterioration, give endurance and build up muscle mass. Proteins supply these highly needed amino acids to the muscles and so your diet needs to contain a certain amount of protein accordingly.
Whey is the by-product of making cheese and in the past was usually thrown away as a waste product with no further use. Then researchers discovered the benfits of Whey and not long after that Whey Protein. Now researchers know that whey protein is a high quality, natural protein that is rich with amino acids. Whey Protein is also found in mother’s milk and also used in baby formula. Although protein is also found in other foods (especially meat or soy or vegetables), but research has shown that Whey Protein offers one of the easiest absorption (digestion) compared to all the other protein types.
Why is Whey Protein a good choice for women in particular? Whey protein has many health benefits including and one those is bone health which comes into play when thinking about Osteoporosis as an example. And as women, we know when it comes to Osteoporosis that we need all the help we can get to keep out bones strong and healthy. Of course this is not a silver-bullet, but it is one added benefit from using Whey Protein. Benefits like increased muscle mass (think toned, not body building) have already been mentioned. Women lack certain hormones that men have and as a result do not “bulk up” like men do when consuming increased levels of protein.
My prefered Whey Protein comes in different flavors. Check them out here.
