Have you heard about the P90X program? I did not really until a few weeks ago. Of course I have seen the ads on different websites, but I never got around to really look at the program. As an example, if you type “Does P90X work” into your favorite search engine (mine is still Google by the way), you’ll get a large variety of search results in return. There is quite some information to digest, but in the end you still do not know if P90X really works. I’ll be honest, I have not touched the P90X program as I prefer other type of workouts, but I can tell you a few things about P90X anyway – I have 2 friends who tried it and one of them got ripped as the program promises while the other one – well, I am not sure yet if he really followed the program in detail.
And that is where I can give you some good feedback. Any workout or fitness program (or even weight loss program) will only work if you are dedicated to it and if you follow the instructions. If you are not fully dedicated the best program will not work for you ever and you will try the next one and the next one and never achieve any remarkable results. And if that is you I can tell you that the P90X will not work for you.
Here is some information I heard from the friend who saw good results from the P90X.
Starting Weight: 185 lbs.
Body fat percentage roughly 25%
Height: 5’ 10”
He had not worked out for a while and so this program posted a change for him for sure. The first week of P90X was quite a shock for him. I think the biggest problem was that he had to do something every day. I think he took quite a few Advil to fight the muscle pain and body aches. But as the time progressed things apparently changed and the pain went away Do you know what a runner’s high is? He got something similar out of the program every day he finished the exercises. Of course there was always some frustration here and there when he was expecting results and his body just did not change “dramatically” after each day (why would it anyway – muscle growth is not that fast).
After a month he had to buy some new clothes – his body frame was changing and the best way he noticed it was when getting dressed in the morning.
The middle 30 days of the workout plan were a bit of a struggle – for one he saw very little progress + his schedule was busy with work not making room for the exercise program. Luckily the recovery week came and things turned to the better. While the final weight loss from finishing the P90X fitness program wasn’t huge (well, muscle tissue has more weight than body fat does), we – friends and family noticed.
As mentioned the other friend lacks commitment and so his results were … well, not that interesting.
So, I have not tried P90X myself as it is not my type of fitness program that I find interesting, but that is the good thing with exercising. It does not matter what you do to get there, important is that you do something. I do not want to be a couch potatoe with a big fat belly and neither should you.
Disclaimer: Results will most likely vary and I highly recommend that you follow the P90X program on the dot for best possible results. There is also a 90 Day Money Back Guarantee.
